Cizancourt

Cizancourt is a commune with 44 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) by the Somme in the Picardie region of northern France. The municipality is part of the Canton of Nesle and is part of the Communauté de communes du Pays Neslois. The inhabitants are referred to as Cizancourtois. Your picardischer epithet is: ches guérnoules éd Cizancourt ( " the frogs from Cizancourt ").

The community is located west of the canalized Somme and connects to the northeast located municipality of Saint-Christ - Briost. It is crossed by the road department D62. The southern boundaries roughly corresponds to the course of the Autoroute A29.

History

The name of the populated already in Gallo-Roman times municipality is interpreted as a " court of the Storks ". Since the 12th century there was a later -dependent first of Nesle and Peronne from basic rule. During the French Revolution Cizancourt was a separate municipality. The First World War brought severe destruction; which also destroyed church was rebuilt in a different location. The municipality received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
