Clade

One clade ( clade English, from Ancient Greek κλάδος, klados, " branch " ), also monophyletic monophyletic group or closed community of descent, in biology is a systematic unit that includes a common ancestor and all its descendants. Thus, relationships between different species are usually described, but the term can also be applied to individuals. The scientific methodology, which deals with the relationships of clades is the cladistics.
