Class 99

Series 99 is the generic name of all narrow gauge steam locomotives of the Deutsche Reichsbahn or their successor companies. It is therefore subdivided into many sub- ranges, which are listed in this table.

With the conversion of the series scheme in a computer readable numbers of the series number was at the German Federal Railroad in 1968 a leading 0 ( 099 123 -x), the same number as expanded at Deutsche Reichsbahn in 1970 to four locations, locomotives with four-digit sequence number maintained their previous number (99 1234 -x) and locomotives with three-digit order number an additional digit was preceded by the designated track gauge, 1 and 4 for 750 mm, 2 900 mm, 3 600 mm and 5-7 mm for 1000.

With the introduction of the DB schema number 1992 at the Deutsche Reichsbahn the remaining locomotives were classified in the series 099.
