Class U special wagon

In the genre of underground UIC are grouped all those freight cars of the special designs according to the type designation system for freight wagons that do not belong to the genera of F, H, L, S or Z.

These are ( in descending order by number in the DB):

  • Tank wagons for the carriage of powdery goods,
  • Transition car between different coupling systems,
  • Tiefladewagen including Schnabel car,
  • Hopper car with cargo doors and
  • The test vehicle systems Road Railer and Kombirail for combined transport.

Between 1964 and 1979, the tank wagons for the carriage of liquid and gaseous products ( tank wagons ) were assigned to the genus U before the genus Z formed in 1980.

Tank wagons for the carriage of powdery goods ( Powder products wagons )

Powder products wagon of the wagon is a special container, which is designed for conveying of dusty materials. These cars are unloaded pneumatically, to which compressed air is used most often. Schnabel car

The largest low-loader wagons are designed as Schnabel car, which consist of two completely separate parts. Each part is supported by multi-axle bogies bogie or groups.
