Classical Association of the Middle West and South

The Classical Association of the Middle West and South ( CAMWS ) is an association for the promotion of archeology and its didactics. It pursues this goal by price tenders, funding of projects, publications and annual meetings. Membership is open to all interested parties. The Company is primarily aimed at teachers, pupils and students.

The CAMWS was founded in 1905 at the University of Chicago. Its first president was William G. Manly. Originally 22 states of the United States taking part in it. Currently, 31 states and three Canadian provinces are involved.

The official publication of the CAMWS is The Classical Journal, which is published quarterly since the founding of the company.
