Classics IV

The Classics IV was an American pop group of the 1960s.

It was founded in 1967 by Dennis Yost quintet in Detroit / Michigan, USA. Already in the same year she got a record contract with Imperial Records and had her first major hit with Spooky.

After the songwriter and composer James R. Cobb had left the lineup in 1968, called the band " Classics IV Featuring Dennis Yost ". Under this name, they get two more hits, Stormy, although the only place 5 100 even reached gold status on the Billboard Hot, as well as traces, with # 2 on the höchstplatzierteste title of the band.

1969 they changed their name again - this time in " Dennis Yost and the Classics IV". However, the success was more and more after 1975 and they had her her last Top 100 Hit with My first day without. James R. Cobb and Dean Daughtry, and her producer Buddy Buie at that time were already members of the Atlanta Rhythm Section.

All of their chart successes were - written by Buddy Buie and James R. Cobb - down to the last.
