Claudia Kahr

Claudia Kahr ( born September 30, 1955 in Graz) is an Austrian lawyer and judge at the Constitutional Court.

Kahr, who comes from a family of doctors, graduated in 1973 at the Federal High School in Graz and studied law at the University of Graz, where it was in 1978 doctorate to Dr. iur. 1978/1979 she was at the Collège d'Europe and then worked until 1984 in the Constitutional Service of the Federal Chancellery. After various tasks, including in the private offices of Herbert Salcher, Franz Kreuzer and Rudolf Streicher, as club secretary for Constitutional Affairs of the Parliament and as an office manager of the Secretary Brigitte Ederer for European Affairs at the Federal Chancellery, she took over in 1996, the leadership of the group A in the Constitutional Service of the Federal Chancellery and 1997, the head of the Section II of the Federal Ministry for Science and Transport. Since 1999 she has been a judge at the Constitutional Court.

Since June 2010, she is also chairman of ASFINAG. She is the first woman in that position. Kahr is considered committed feminist.
