Claudia Riegler (skier)

Claudia Alice Riegler (* July 16, 1976 in Ebenau, Austria ) is a former New Zealand alpine skier. Since she could not qualify for the Austrian national ski team, they started in the Ski World Cup for New Zealand, the country of birth of their mother. Riegler went almost without exception, slalom, giant slalom sporadically.

Biography

Already in its first season in 1994/95 reached Riegler with an eleventh place in Maribor and a 13th place in Lenzerheide valuable points for the start list in the slalom. In the 1995/96 season they scored several top ranks before they could celebrate the first World Cup victory of her career on 10 March 1996 in Narvik. In the Sierra Nevada Shortly before she missed at the World Ski Championships 1996, the medals in fourth scarce.

The 1996/97 season was Riegler's most successful season. This winter, you get four World Cup victories. So she finished behind Pernilla Wiberg second place in the slalom World Cup. Riegler is married to the French Olympic downhill gold medalist Antoine Dénériaz. In November 2009, the first son of the couple was born.
