Cláudio Hummes

Cláudio Cardinal Hummes OFM ( born August 8, 1934 in Montenegro, Brazil) is a retired cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

Origin

Claudio Humes was born on August 8, 1934 in Montenegro ( Brazil) as one of twelve children of the farmer Pedro Adão Hummes and his wife Maria Frank Hummes and grew up in the embossed by German immigrants community Salvador do Sul in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul.
