Claudius Amyand

Claudius Amyand (* 1680 in Paris, † July 6, 1740 ) was a French surgeon.

Life

He was a surgeon in the British army and the British King George II in 1716 he became a Fellow of the Royal Society. 1735 succeeded Amyand in St. George 's Hospital in London, the first successful appendectomy.
