Claus Peter Poppe

Claus Peter Poppe ( born March 1, 1948 in wages ) is a German politician ( SPD). His most important political posts are as a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament and as mayor of the city Quakenbruck. Claus Peter Poppe is married and has two children.

Education and work

After graduation Poppe studied German and Sports in Göttingen and Austin (Texas ). After the clerkship, he was from 1975 to 1995 teacher at the high school wages, most recently as Director of Studies, and thereafter until his 2003 election to the Landtag headmaster of Artland Gymnasium in Quakenbruck.

Policy

Since 1975 Poppe is a member of the SPD. From 1976 to 1996 he was alderman of the city of wages, most recently as Chairman of the SPD faction in the city council, and from 1986 to 1996 Member of District Assembly in the district of Vechta. Since 2001 he is a member of the Council of the velvet municipality Artland.

2003, 2008 and 2013 Poppe was elected on the regional list in the Lower Saxony state parliament. In the 15th term of the Parliament of Lower Saxony ( 2003-2008), Claus Peter Poppe Deputy Chairman of the Cultural Committee; in the 16th electoral term (2008-2013) he held the post of chairman of this committee. Poppe is also a member of the working group "integration" of the SPD Landtag Group since 2008. He is also a spokesman for his group for churches, religious and philosophical communities.

On November 2, 2011 Claus Peter Poppe was elected honorary mayor of the city Quakenbruck.
