Claus Tuchscherer

Claus -Jürgen Tuchscherer, from 1976 Klaus -Jürgen Tuchscherer ( born January 14, 1955 in Rodewisch ) is a former German nordic combined and later Austrian ski jumper.

Life

Claus Tuchscherer came the age of thirteen to Children and Youth Sports School Klingenthal and later belonged to the SC Dynamo Klingenthal, where he was trained by Gotthard drummer. The Ministry for State Security then attempted to convince him to return to the GDR. Tuchscherer returned with his girlfriend back in the GDR and submitted a formal request to leave. This was also approved after a few weeks of state security by the Ministry, which prompted some Western media speculation about sports espionage, which also came from some representatives of the Austrian Ski Federation. Tuchscherer went back to Austria. He took Austrian citizenship and moved from the Nordic combined ski jumping. After joining, he wrote his name officially Klaus Tuchscherer.

His first jump for Austria, he completed already at December 30, 1976 in the season opener for the Four Hills Tournament 1976/77 in Oberstdorf.
