Clemente Gaddi

Clemente Gaddi ( born December 23, 1901 in Mandello del Lario on Lake Como, Italy; † 7 November 1993) was a Roman Catholic archbishop.

Life

Clemente Gaddi was ordained a priest on September 18, 1926. On June 24, 1953 Gaddi became the Bishop of Nicosia, Italy and introduced formally appointed into office on 6 September of the same year. On July 21, 1962, called Gaddi Coadjutor of the Diocese of Syracuse and gave him therefore in practice the same line. With effect from July 21, 1962 Gaddi was appointed as the successor of Efrem Forni Titular Archbishop of Darnis in Egypt and on September 25, 1963, he was appointed Archbishop of the Diocese of Bergamo.

With effect from 20 May 1977 Gaddi withdrew into private life, and died on November 7, 1993 at the age of almost 92 years.
