Climbing peak

When climbing peaks are referred to in the climbing areas Saxon Switzerland, Zittau Mountains and climbing areas in adjacent uplands detached rocks which can only be reached by climbing at least the difficulty I on the UIAA scale or jump from the adjacent cliffs or massifs. As a rule, a Vertical separation of at least 10 m is considered necessary for this. In the Saxon Switzerland, however, the Saxon climbing rules require no minimum height but define climbing summit merely as a " free-standing rocks, which [ ... ] are to ascend only by climbing or by robbery, crossing or jumping from nearby rock [ ... ]. " Another requirement is that the recognition by the relevant commission of the SBB and the relevant nature conservation authority. For hikers, these recognized peaks are often recognizable by the existing summit book and the abseil.

In other climbing areas, such as in the Bohemian Switzerland, there are also exceptions. There need climbing summit to have only one major wall - the lowest site may thereby measuring less than 10 m, but must be at least 6 feet high.
