Clotilde, Princess of Venice and Piedmont

Clotilde Marie Pascale Courau, Princess of Venice and Piedmont ( born April 3, 1969 in Levallois -Perret, Hauts -de -Seine département ) is a French actress. It is with Emanuel Philibert of Savoy, the oldest grandson of the last king of Italy Umberto II, married and thus belongs to the House of Savoy.

Life

Clotilde Marie Pascale Courau was the daughter of Jean -Claude Courau ( b. 1942 ) and Catherine du Pontavice of Renardières (* 1948) was born. She has three sisters and grew up in a Roman Catholic family. She spent her childhood partly in Egypt and Benin. After graduating from high school she decided to become an actress at the age of 16 years. To this end, she studied at the Cours Simon and Cours Florent in Paris. Then she played theater before she made her debut in the staged by Jacques Doillon, published in 1990 drama The little gangster on the side of Richard Anconina Gérald Thomassin and in the role of Stephanie on the canvas. For her performance she was nominated for the award of the French César Film Awards 1991 as Best Young Actress Award and in the same year at the award ceremony of the European Film Award for Best Actress.

On September 25, 2003, she married the nobleman Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia, in Santa Maria degli Angeli and the Martyrs, a church in Rome. During the wedding she wore a wedding dress by Valentino Garavani. She was pregnant for the sixth month. The wedding itself was controversial because Courau is known for its left-wing views. After the wedding, she was awarded the title Clotilde of Savoy, Princess of Venice and Piedmont ( Principessa Clotilde di Savoia, Principessa di Venezia e Piemonte). Your first daughter, Princess Vittoria, was born on 29 December 2003. Their second daughter, Princess Luisa was born on 16 August 2006. The couple adopted two Kenyan babies in January 2011.
