Cloud Cult

Cloud Cult is a founded by singer / songwriter Craig Minowa in 1995 in Minneapolis, Minnesota indie rock band. The name comes from a prophecy of a North American indigenous sect. Craig Minowa said: It's a sect of ancient North American indigenous prophecies thathave been eerily accurate so far. There 's an incredibly interesting analysis in the prophecies of the balance in between technology and nature. In a nutshell, the prophecies indicate indication did humankind will go through a massive transition due to inability to control some of the unexpected aspects of technology. Those did survive will be thosethat know how to live off the land. I used it as a project name When I wrote the album " Who Killed Puck? " We were not a live tape back then, it was just a studio project. But as new album came together and the project turned into live performance I Decided to stick with it.

Band History

Cloud Cult was founded in 1995 by Craig Minowa, when he recruited cellist Sarah Young, Shannon Frid ( violin), Connie Minowa and Scott West ( painter), bassist Shawn Neary and Arlen Peiffer, to participate in his solo projects. But he never went at a record company, but published on Earthology Records, a self- founded non-profit label, is highly respected in the environmental impact.

In 2002, Craig died Minowas two year old son Kaidin. Craig Minowa withdrew and wrote over 100 songs, some of which appeared in Lost Songs from the Lost Years, which was published in 2002.

A documentary film about the band, entitled No One Said It Would Be Easy was released in spring 2009.

One of the most characteristic features of the live performances of the band is the live painting by Connie Minowa and Scott West. During an appearance is painted by each of the two ever an image that is then auctioned off at the end.
