Cloud Nothings

Cloud Nothings is an American lo-fi band from Cleveland, Ohio. It is also attributed to the indie -rock.

History

The frontman of the band, Dylan Baldi, the band formed in 2009 in order to "sweeten " his time at Case Western Reserve University to. To him soon met the other members Joe Boyer, TJ " itch " Duke and Jayson Gerycz.

The first album of Cloud Nothings was published on 12 October 2010 under the name Turning On and received positive reviews. So it evaluated, among others, the music portal Pitchfork with a 7.9.

The release of the second album Cloud Nothings already followed on January 25, 2011. This was taken in Baltimore and also positively evaluated.

Almost to the day exactly one year later, on January 24, 2012, the third album of the band called Attack On Memory was published. This was perceived in Germany as well, so among other things, the Bayerische Rundfunk wrote an article about the work and the band's sound compared it with Kurt Cobain. As the producer of the album, the band hired producer Steve Albini to Nirvana.

All three albums were released on Carpark Records.

  • A majority of the songs on the first album was recorded at Baldis computer at his home in Westlake.
  • Dylan Baldi is true with his young age (* 1991), his often worn flannel shirts and his horn-rimmed glasses as the epitome of hipster culture.
  • Attack On Memory was the first album in 2012 classified in the "Best New Music " category at Pitchfork.
