Cloze test

A cloze test or gap test (English cloze test) is a test or exercise consisting of a cloze. A cloze is a text that were omitted from the letters, syllables, words or phrases. The test participants or students are asked to fill in the missing parts of the text ( text gaps). The selected parts of the text can also be specified in any order of the subject.

Cloze tests require the ability to understand texts ( language comprehension ) and master the vocabulary to recognize which words are to be entered in the text gaps.

With so-called cloze generators can be easily created with the help of computers cloze tests or cloze worksheets.

A teacher could lay his students following Cloze:

The words " bought some milk and eggs " point to the site of action, ie, a supermarket, a mom-and-pop store or simply a shop. The second gap could be filled with " umbrella " or " raincoat ", while in the end the word " wet" or " soaked " fits.
