Club Atlético Atlanta

Club Atlético Atlanta, usually only briefly called Atlanta, established in 1904 is a football club based in the district of Villa Crespo in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires.

Founded in 1931, Atlanta along with 17 other clubs play professional operating in Argentine football. The club was part of the newly created Liga Argentina de Football, which had to make do initially even without sanction by FIFA. 1934 merged the club shortly with Argentinos Juniors to Atlanta Argentinos Juniors. The compound was dissolved but already after the 25th game day and the season was led by Argentinos finished. Atlanta has been approved for the 1935 season, again as an independent club for game operation in the first division.

As the winner of the Copa Suecia the club alongside CA River Plate is run by the Association as a champion of 1958.

Atlanta has 1931-1984 spent a total of 45 years of playing in the first division. Since 1985 the club has done so primarily only in the third league, the Primera B encountered.

The club legend has it that the club name comes from the U.S. city of Atlanta, which was hit in the start time of an earthquake and so was all the rage. Atlanta is also called " Los Bohemios " or " El Bohemio " called. Because the team in 1960 its home games fought out until the completion of their own stadium in frequently changing venues from other clubs.

Traditionally, the Chacarita Juniors from a neighboring district, a great rivalry. Since the two clubs play but these days mostly in different leagues has now also the CA All Boys become a " favorite enemy ".

Stadium

CA Atlanta wore in 1960 from its home games in the club's Estadio Don León Kolbovsky. The stadium currently holds 34,000 spectators. As of 2006, efforts are underway to replace the wooden bleachers of the stadium by concrete structures. In May 2008, the stadium was closed by the city administration Bonarenser after crowd disturbances in the context of games against All Boys.

Atlanta reverted back to the time being Bohemio Image and carries home games again in varying stages. Often this is the Ciudad de Vicente López of suburban CA Platense, but also of Ferro Carril Oeste Etcheverri was frequently used.

The redesigned Estadio Don León Kolbovsky was reopened in a game of 32 game against Deportivo Español day in the Primera B Metropolitana before 12,000 spectators on March 29, 2009. It should hold about 14,000 spectators these days. The headquarters of the Association is also housed in the stadium.

Known player

National player Domingo Tarasconi began in the early 1920s his career with the club, as well as Fernando Paternoster of 1921-1926 wore the blue - yellow jersey. Luis Artime played 1958-1962 for Atlanta. Adolfo Pedernera could be piloted in 1947 for a season to Atlanta, but the season ended with the first relegation from the first division. Daniel Carnevali, goalkeeper of Argentina in the FIFA World Cup in 1974, played in 1969 and 1984 in Atlanta.
