Club de Campo Villa de Madrid

The Club de Campo Villa de Madrid is a country club in the Spanish capital Madrid. On the sports and recreation center are among other golf courses, equestrian facilities, tennis and paddle courts, hockey pitches, a swimming pool and shooting stands. The same sports club, with around 22,000 members of one of the largest in Spain and is known for his success in hockey.

History

In 1931 a group of young adults of the upper class Madrilenian the Real Club de Campo founded in the capital of Spain. In 1942, the club merged with the Real Sociedad Española Hípica ( Royal Spanish Riding Society). Under pressure from the Madrid City Council ( as land owners of sports facilities has a say ) the sports facilities were modernized and expanded from 1984. Since 1993, the club opens new disciplines. In the Club de Campo, among others, the field hockey championship of men in 1974 and the Women's World Cup 2006 and the European Championships took place in show jumping, 2011. Since 2011, the Club de Campo venue for the tennis tournaments ATP Challenger Madrid and at the same time held the ITF Women's Circuit Madrid. From 2013, a competition of the Global Champions Tour takes place in the equestrian facilities of the club.

Location and Public Transportation

The Club de Campo Villa de Madrid is located in the west of Madrid, just north of Casa de Campo in the district of Moncloa - Aravaca. The sports complex can be achieved across the street Carretera de Castilla and the Autovia A-6 ( Exit 8 ), as well as keep the bus routes 160 and 161 at the Club de Campo.
