CMA CGM is a French shipping and logistics company based in Marseille.

History

The French shipping company CMA CGM was formed in 1999 from the merger of the shipping companies Compagnie Générale Maritime ( CGM ), also known as the French Line, and the Compagnie Maritime d' AFFRETEMENT (CMA ). CMA CGM is the largest shipping company in France. It operates nearly 400 owned and chartered container ships, making it one of the largest container ship cruise lines in the world. Since the end of 2012, the company with the CMA CGM Marco Polo operates with its slot capacity of over 16,000 TEU 's largest container ship in the world.
