Coaticook, Quebec
Coaticook is a small town in the administrative region of Estrie ( Eastern Townships also ) in the Canadian province of Quebec.
The city is located directly on the border with the United States. The name of the town goes back to the Abenaki Indians: Koatikeku means "river in the pine forests ."
The city was founded around 1800 and today typical victorian decorated with small two-story brick houses.
The entire Eastern Townships were settled after the Civil War in the United States by loyalists. The influence of French-speaking Canadians did not develop until later.
Worth seeing is the ravine at the Coaticook River with the 169 m long, very narrow suspension bridge.
