Cocoon Recordings

Cocoon Recordings is a record label based in Frankfurt am Main, was established in 2000 as part of the Cocoon Music Event GmbH from Sven Väth. The other areas of the company are Cocoon Booking and Cocoon Clubbing, where club events, outdoor events and tours are organized.

Description

Sven Väth founded Cocoon Recordings as a platform for the development of electronic music. Aim of the label is to help young DJs and producers to release their music without being dependent on major structures. The publications are largely attributable to the genre Techno.

The flagship publication of Cocoon Recordings is the Cocoon Compilation series, which is published annually since 2000 and whose publications are named after the alphabet. This produced exclusively for Cocoon Recordings tracks can be heard from both established artists of the label as well as new talent.

The series ... in the Mix collects mix of DJs, appears from label founder Väth annually since 2000, such a mix compilation. After each season in Ibiza Väth released his latest set, for the first time in autumn 2000 under the title The Sound of the First Season. The mix CD came promptly to 28th place in the official German Compilation Charts. Other Cocoon artists in this series are Richie Hawtin (together with Väth The Sound of the Third Season ), Steve Bug, Ricardo Villalobos, Pascal FEOS, Frank Lorber, Toni Rios and Tobi Neumann.

In addition to these highly successful series published Cocoon Recordings albums and EPs by Cocoon also artists like Roman Flügel, Jacek Sienkiewicz, Legowelt, Dominik Eulberg and Guy Gerber.
