Code of Rubrics

The Codex is a Rubricarum by Pope Pius XII. begun and Pope John XXIII. 1960 published collection of liturgical rules for the celebration of Mass and the Liturgy of the Hours of the Roman Rite. The Codex Rubricarum replaced the older editions of the Missale Romanum and Breviarium Romanum contained the headings of the Popes Pius V and Pius X, unified, clarified and expanded the liturgical legislation of the preceding decades. He also served as the basis for the liturgical reform of the Second Vatican Council.
