Coen de Koning

Coenradus Cornelis Josephus " Coen " de Koning ( born March 30, 1879 in Edam, † July 29, 1954 in Breda ) was a Dutch speed skater.

De Koning, 1905 in Groningen, in his only participation in all-around world championships, world champion. He won here over 1500 meters, 5000 meters and 10,000 meters. He also took part in the European Championships in 1904 and 1906 in Davos. There he came in second, or third place. However, no medals were awarded for this placement at this time.

De Koning won in 1912 and 1917, the Elfstedentocht, the most important natural ice endurance race in speed skating.
