The Pontifical Latin American Group " Pius " (Spanish: Colegio Pío Latino Americano Pontifical ) is a Pontifical College in Rome.

The Pontifical Latin American Group " Pius " was first established on 21 November 1858 " Latin American Seminar" for the training of priests for Latin America by the Chilean priest José Ignacio Víctor Eyzaguirre, based at the Basilica of Sant'Andrea della Valle in Rome. In 1867 the rector Francisco Vannutelli SJ, by Pope Pius IX. granted permission to rename the seminar in Latin American Seminar Pius. On March 12, 1871 Pope Pius IX could. appoint a graduate of the seminar Jose Maria Ignacio Montes de Oca y Obregón bishop.

By decree of the Curia on March 19, 1905 the College was given the papal recognition as a university. In 1905 the board of the institution of the Society of Jesus has been transferred.

Until 1978, studied at the University of 3187 students, of which 18 cardinals, 87 archbishops and 194 bishops.
