Colón is a town and a municipality in the north- east of the Cuban province of Matanzas.

The municipality is located north of Calimete and south-east of Perico. The settlement was officially founded in 1846.

The municipality counts 71 579 inhabitants in an area of 597 km ², which corresponds to a population density of 119.9 inhabitants per square kilometer. The area is dominated by agriculture especially, are grown sugar cane, tobacco and oranges.

Colon is divided into seven neighborhoods ( Barrio ): Agüica, Este, Guareiras, Jačan, Laguna Grande, Oeste and Palmillas.
