Colón Department, Entre Ríos

The department Colón ( Entre Ríos ) is located in the eastern part of the province of Entre Ríos in the center of Argentina and is one of 17 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north by the department of Concordia, in the east of Uruguay, on the south by the department of Uruguay and to the west by the departments of San Salvador and Villaguay.

The capital of the department Colón ( Entre Ríos ) is the same Colón.

Population

According to estimates by the INDEC, the population of 52 718 inhabitants increased from (2001) to 62 741 inhabitants in 2005.
