Colorado Amendment 64

Colorado Amendment 64 was a popular initiative in Colorado to legalize and regulate cannabis as an intoxicant similar to alcohol.

In the elections in the United States on November 6, 2012, coinciding with the presidential elections, voted 55.32 % for the legalization and 44.68 % against. The regulation went into the state constitution as Article 18, § 16. The first stores opened on 1 January 2014, worldwide media coverage.
