The Colorado Springs Airport ( English City of Colorado Springs Municipal Airport ) is the airport of the city of Colorado Springs in Colorado.

History

The city of Colorado Springs in 1927 acquired a 260 acre area east of the city and set up an airport with a two short take-off and landing runways of gravel. The cost of the land and the firing amounted to $ 33,500 (equivalent to $ 470,000 in today's purchasing power ). In the 1930s, the airport was part of the route El Paso - Pueblo - Colorado Springs - Denver. However, the utilization of the airport was low, in 1938 a total of 35 passengers were handled.
