Column (periodical)

The column ( the column of the print pack, from Latin columna, " pillar ", " pillar") referred to in the press as well as online journalism a short opinion piece as small journalistic form. The author of a regularly appearing column is also known as a columnist.

Term

In the print media, the term is mainly used for a journalistic form. It is a short opinion piece that extends mostly over no more than a newspaper column. History

The first newspaper columnist was John Hill, who started with a daily column in the London Advertiser and Literary Gazette on March 11, 1751. He wrote under the pseudonym of " The Inspector" ( The inspector ). The first active in Austria was columnist Wolfgang Kornke in the years 1810-1818.
