Reception

For Stephan Friedrich von laut.de Puddle of Mudd are one of the most promising retro grunge act in the coming years. Even without the support of Fred Durst of the band the breakthrough would have succeeded. Although the class of 3 Doors Down or Alice in Chains is not achieved, the album is still a consistently solid and good disc. Matthias iron from cdstarts.de is remembered at Come Clean on Nirvana. Puddle Of Mudd sounds like Nirvana. Honestly. [ ... ] Alone the edgy "Nobody Told Me" recalled striking, especially by the singing, to Cobain works. The music is varied and catchy and would have a certain depth. Overall, he forgives 8.5 out of 10 possible points. Bret Love by allmusic.com forgave the other hand, only 2.5 out of 5.
