Company History

Comerica was founded in 1849 by Elon Farnsworth the Detroit Savings Fund Institute opened. 1881 changed the company name (company) to " The Detroit Savings Bank " and 1933 "Detroit Savings Bank ". 1953 formed the banks Detroit Bank, The Birmingham National Bank, Ferndale National Bank and Detroit Warbeek Bank and Trust Company, the Joint Undertaking The Detroit Bank & Trust Company. 1982 The company changed to today's Comerica.

Comerica has paid in December 1998, 66 million dollars for the naming rights to the stadium, Comerica Park in Detroit, home of the baseball club Detroit Tigers.

In May 2006, Comerica Bank branches in 368 locations in five states in the United States (240 in Michigan, 59 in Texas, seven in Florida and 62 in California and Arizona).
