The Comic Forum is an online forum on the topic comic, which was founded in 2000.

Development and content

When the forum went online in 2000, it was the only discussion forum of comic strip. Many large comic publishers like Carlsen and Ehapa and Panini opened official forums.

2002 Carlsen left the Comic Forum and opened new official forums of Comics in Leipzig. 2004 Panini also went their own ways. In March 2009, Carlsen Comics forum returned to the comic forum that Carlsen Manga Forum and the Forum for manga magazine Daisuki remained at Comics in Leipzig. Currently located next to the major publishers Carlsen and Ehapa many small comic book publishers in the comic forum. There is also a great artist area. In January 2012, EMA left the Comic Forum and switched to Comics in Leipzig. In June 2012, all publishing and various fan forums of comics in Leipzig were taken into comic forum.

The Comic Forums today is not only a forum for comics, but also contains sections for games, books, movies and music. Currently, more than 35,000 members are registered, of which 800 are active every day.

Award

For the artist, the area Comicforum received the Special Prize ICOM 2004. Association comic that gives these Independent Comic Price, justified this with the associated effect that the forum for comic fans. In addition, networks for artists would be created that would also have an impact in later publications. The Comic Forum is an indispensable factor in the comic landscape.
