Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist−Leninist)

The Communist Party of Nepal (United Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML), Nepala Kamyunishta Parti ( Ekikrit Marksbadi Leninbadi ra ) ) is a communist party in Nepal. It is chaired by Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal resigned.

The CPN (UML) is committed to the multi-party system and want to achieve the parliamentary route to socialism.

History

The party was founded in 1991 from the merger of the Communist Party of Nepal (Marxist ) and the Communist Party of Nepal (Marxist - Leninist). She led from 1994 to 1997 a minority government led by her former party leader Man Mohan Adhikari and was from 1997 to 1999 part of a coalition government. The People's War of the Communist Party of Nepal ( Maoist ) rejected the CPN (UML), but resigned, especially since 1999 for a negotiated solution to the conflict. Since the takeover of power by King Gyanendra in 2001 and intensified since the dissolution of parliament in 2005, the party extra-parliamentary mobilizations and was part of the Siebenerallianz opposition parties, which, inter alia, also the other major party in the country that belongs to Nepali Congress Party. Since April 2007, the party is history with six of 23 ministers in the transitional government.

The party was together with 40 other organizations, including the Nepal Communist Party ( Mashal ), from a total of 33 countries, one of the founding members of the International Coordination of Revolutionary Parties and Organizations ( ICOR ), which was established on October 6, 2010, moved their membership However, a little later back again.
