Concord Dawn

Concord Dawn is a drum and bass group founded in 1998 in New Zealand. It consisted of the two musicians Matt Harvey ( Matty C) and Evan Short ( Kiljoy ) by the year 2010. Since then occurs Matty C on alone under the name.

Their first, self-titled album was released in 2000 on the label Kog Transmissions. After an associated tour in New Zealand their second album Disturbance was published in April 2001. This won at the 2001 " BNet music awards " the prize as " Best Electronic Album" and " Best Independent Release ". With their third album Uprising they won the first time, more attention internationally. It was published in September 2003 in New Zealand and reached already after three months gold status. The BNet music awards 2003, she won in the wake of the "Best Song" for " Morning Light " and "Most Radio Play" at the ceremonies in 2004 they received the prizes " Best Album " and " Best Electronic Release " for their album Uprising. They were also nominated this year in the " New Zealand Music Awards " for the prize as " Best Electronic Act". In 2005, their fifth album Chaos by Design, which was also very well received by the critics appeared. In 2010, the two musicians split up for good after they realized during the long collaboration, they evolve in different directions. Matty for some time already lived in Vienna and graduated from performances in Europe, while Evan stayed in Auckland and showed performances in New Zealand, Australia and the United States. Matty retained the name Concord Dawn and produces more on new tracks. Evan Short won the majority of studio equipment, and since then focuses on the work as a sound engineer and producer, such as for Shapeshifters album The System is a Vampire. On September 20, was released in 2010 Matty's new album The Enemy Within in New Zealand.
