Confederação Brasileira de Orientação

The Confederação Brasileira de Orientação (abbreviated CBO) is the national Orienteering Association in Brazil.

History

Already in 1994, Brazil was admitted as an associate member in the World Orienteering Federation IOF. For Brazil to Cuba was the second country in Latin America in the IOF. On 11 January 1999, the CBO was founded in Guarapuava. As the first president was José Otavio Franco Dornelles, which has a significant impact on the history of orienteering in Brazil, was elected. Through the establishment of a national association Brazil could be recorded by the IOF Congress in August 1999 in the Scottish Inverness as a full member of the IOF.
