Confédération Internationale des Sociétés d´Auteurs et Compositeurs

The Confédération Internationale des Sociétés d' Auteurs et Composers ( CISAC ) is an international umbrella organization for collecting societies.

CISAC was founded in 1926 in Paris. The first annual conferences were then held in Berlin, Budapest, Copenhagen, London, Madrid, Paris, Rome, Seville, Vienna and Warsaw. At the 13th Conference 1938 in Stockholm there was a confederation of 52 organizations from 29 countries.

1994 collected the CISAC member societies royalties and fees of approximately five billion dollars. In June 2010 it comprised 229 member organizations in 121 countries, approximately three million authors ( creators ) and publishers ( publishers ) represented in the fields of music, literature, film and visual arts. The sum of the royalties and fees in 2009 amounted to over seven billion dollars, an increase over the previous year amounted to 1.7%.
