Confédération Mondiale des Sports de Boules
The Confédération Mondiale des Sports de Boules ( CMSB ) is the international governing body for ball sports and recognized as such by the IOC.

FIPJP
The FIPJP with 558 889 members (as of December 2007) the largest association of CMSB. In it, 78 associations are organized. The largest association is the French Federation ( Fédération Française de Pétanque et Jeu Provençal, FFPJP ) with 362 876 members (as of December 2006). The rest of the members have together 215 599 members. In 1978, the ratio was even clearer. France had 375 603 members, and the remaining 17 member associations together had 28,360 members.
The FIPJP directed petanque world championships for Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.
Germany
The German Pétanque Association (DPV ) is the fifth largest association with 14,252 athletes.
Switzerland
The Fédération Suisse de Pétanque ( FSP) is with 3,427 athletes ranked 12th It is divided into the following groups:
- Le secteur alémanique
- L'association Cantonal Fribourgeoise
- L'association Cantonal Genevoise
- L'association Jurassienne
- L'association Cantonal Neuchâteloise
- L'association Cantonal Valaisanne
- L'association vaudoise
Austria
The Austrian Pétanque Federation ( public transport ) has 262 members (2006). It was founded in 1993.
