Congressional Debate

Parliament simulations are carried out to high schools and British schools. Here students can actively trade in a democratic learning environment. It is a method of Civic Education.

Often, the simulations are referred to as " congress in action" or " Model United Nations ".

Congress in Action is a simulation of the Congress. Participants prepare based on authentic materials prior to their role as parliamentarians. Each student is involved in the legislative process and has to work out a position paper. With this basis, she works in simulated committee meetings and debates.

This only works when a team of teachers over a longer period, this well prepared. Each week will take place in two to four lessons committee meetings and debates. These sessions are accompanied reflective in the classroom.

The aim is to understand vividly real political processes.
