Conrad Feger Jackson

Conrad Feger ( Fäger ) Jackson ( born September 11, 1813 in Pennsylvania, † December 13, 1862 at the Battle of Fredericksburg, Virginia) was a brigadier general in the U.S. Army during the Civil War.

Life

Jackson worked for the Philadelphia and Reading Railroad, a resident of Reading railway companies. At the beginning of the Civil War, he joined the U.S. Army in 1861 and was appointed Colonel of the 9th Regiment of the reserve troops of Pennsylvania. In this capacity he participated in the Battle of Dranesville and March to August 1862 the command of George Archibald McCall at Peninsula campaign part.

In July 1862 he was appointed brigadier general and commander of the 3rd Brigade commanded by McCall Division. As such, he took in September 1862 in the battles at South Mountain and Antietam, and finally fell during an attack at the Battle of Fredericksburg.
