Constantine ruble

The Constantine ruble (Russian Константиновский рубль ) is the rarest Russian coin.

The Constantine ruble should be characterized in the Petersburg Münzhof. Once that was known, minting was discontinued after the sample markdowns immediately.

The coin dies were cut by Jakob Reichel Jakoblewitsch ( 1778-1856 ).

There are five copies with embossed border and three known with smooth boundary. The ruble is made of silver and has a mass of 20.73 grams.

A copy of the coin is located in the Moscow Historical Museum, in the Saint Petersburg State Hermitage Museum and the Washington Smithsonian American Art Museum. The remaining copies are privately owned.
