Constitutional Democratic Party

The Constitutional Democrats, also Kadet Party, ( Конституционная Демократическая партия ) was an early 20th century in the Russian Duma active moiety. After its acronym KD they were also referred to as cadets. Politically they were close to liberal thought.

Known representatives of the cadets were Pavel Nikolayevich Milyukovs, Nikolai Vissarionovich Nekrasov, Georgi Lvov and Jewgenjewitsch Mykola Wassylenko.

The party was formed in the set of Tsar Nicholas II after the Russian Revolution of 1905 First Duma with 37 % majority, as the left-wing parties boycotted the election. In the elections to the Russian Constituent Assembly, they received only 17 seats.
