Continuous ink system

A Continuous Ink System (CIS ), also known as Continuous Ink Supply System ( CISS ) is a cost- effective replacement for ink cartridges from printers. Unlike conventional cartridges, the CIS uses very large (about 100 ml / color) of ink containers, which are connected via hoses to the print head. The tank can be easily filled, it requires no injections.

The ink printer industry considers the continuous ink system as a danger for the sale of ink cartridges, while users demand lower ink costs with high-volume printing. The result is a head-to -head race - the manufacturers change the ink composition, the chips cartridge and models so frequently that CIS manufacturers have trouble keeping up with the development.

To avoid that the chips cartridge reset every time you add must be that manufacturers have their own chips used the undo their level automatically. Printer driver can use this chips from other manufacturers have problems, sometimes workarounds are needed.

A great advantage of the CIS technology is not only cost savings, but also the possibility to use special inks.
