Control Denied

Control Denied was an American progressive metal band and was founded in 1995 by Death frontman Chuck Schuldiner as the successor of the band Death. Schuldiner was a guitarist, composer and arranger of the band. The band released 1996 Demo A Moment Of Clarity - after the official last Death album from 1998 The Sound Of Perseverance - 1999 album The Fragile Art Of Existence. This applies in its genre as outstanding. The musical direction of Control Denied differs from Death mainly by the death metal side facing away clean vocals of singer Tim Aymar (formerly Phsycho Scream, currently at the American metal band Pharaoh ). Chuck Schuldiner himself called Control Denied explicitly as the successor of Death because it would bore the vocal limitations of classic death metal vocals in his own words.

In May 1999, a brain tumor was diagnosed with Chuck Schuldiner, where he died on 13 December 2001. Control Denied was thereupon be dissolved. The in-process since 2000 second album with the working title When Man And Machine Collide was not completed. Ongoing disputes between Jane Schuldiner, mother of Chuck Schuldiner, and the label Karmageddon Media for the rights to the existing material prevent the completion and regular release of the album until today. In the published by Candlelight Records 2004 double CD Zero Tolerance are located next to some older Death demos and live recordings four unfinished and provided without singing demo songs of the new material.
