Converter

Converter is derived from the Latin verb convertere = convert from and may refer to:

  • Herausoxidiert is an oversized crucible in which by supplying oxygen in excess liquefied carbon hot metal: in the steel industry. The pig iron is to steel. See steelmaking
  • In computer science: Programs ( File Converter, Converter (EDI ), etc.), convert the files one file format into another file format, see also: Conversion ( computer science )
  • In the photo technology: Adapter, which increase or decrease the focal length of a lens, see teleconverter or wide converter
  • With fountain pens: ink converter, a piston ink in cartridge form for retrofitting cartridge fillers
  • In electrical engineering: generally a device that performs an adaptation or implementation in radio technology: Devices and equipment used for the conversion of signals to another frequency range or to another location, such as the UHF converter
  • Encoder and decoder for the conversion of signals
