Cooper Industries

Cooper Industries plc is an originally US-based company with headquarters in Dublin, Ireland and U.S. headquarters in Houston, Texas. The company was founded in 1833 in Mount Vernon, Ohio. It is one of the oldest existing large companies in the United States. Listed on the New York Stock Exchange, the company is mainly active in the tooling and electrical industry today. In 2005, Cooper Industries reported revenues of 4.4629 billion U.S. dollars and a net profit of 339.8 million U.S. dollars.

End of August 2009, the Group decided to relocate its headquarters from Bermuda to Ireland. The relocation to Dublin is to take place on 8 September 2009. This will also involve the conversion of Cooper Industries in a stock corporation under the laws of Ireland.
