Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup Station

Københavns Lufthavn, Kastrup Kastrup is a tunnel in the district station at Copenhagen Airport Kastrup, the international commercial airport in the Danish capital Copenhagen. The station is Cph shortcuts, as well as the IATA code of the airport ( CPH). Colloquially, even among railway workers, the train station is usually called Kastrup, although this is also the name of a 1 km north situated metro station.

The station is used daily by about 20,000 travelers. The entire station facility is located below the terminal, with two tracks on two side platforms which run in an east-west direction on the Öresund train along. Platforms and walls were clad with precious stone types. The station is also equipped with specially designed lamps and signs. On the tracks of the Öresundzug between Copenhagen and Malmö and several intercity lines holds. The train station is a border station to Sweden.

A branch from the station leads to about 2 km south-east of the Øresund coast situated behind the operation of the airport railway station Klargøringscenter Kastrup ( Kgc ), where the Intercity trains have their starting point.

North of the station there is a bypass path which runs mostly above ground and runs freight trains the Öresund train to the tunnel station around.

History

The station was opened on 27 September 1998 as part of the outstanding at that time still under construction Øresund link between Copenhagen and Malmö.

Transport links

Escalators of the station is directly connected to Terminal 3 of the airport. Next one comes by lift or stairs to the metro station Lufthavnen, which is located a viaduct right angles to the railway.

It also offers connecting flights to and inter-urban bus routes.
