Corbi

Corbi (deprecated Corbii de Piatra [ to German stone ravens ] ) is a municipality in the county of Arges in the Great Wallachia, Romania.

Location

In the foothills of Iezer - Papusa Mountains, a mountain range of the Southern Carpathians ( Carpatii Meridionali ), in the valley of Doamnei - a left tributary of the Arges - the place is located on the county road (Drum Judetean ) DJ 731 The town of Curtea de Arges ( Argisch ) is located south-west; the small town Câmpulung ( Langenau ) east, each about 30 km; the county seat, Piteşti is situated about 55 kilometers south of Corbi entferdnt.

History

The place Corbi was first mentioned in 1456 in the historical region of Wallachia ( Tara Românească ) in a Slavic certificate in Targoviste.

After the founding of the Romanian principalities of Wallachia and Moldavia, ( "Mountain Country ") are located in the 15th and 16th century serfs, especially from the outskirts of Transylvania as free residents here in the region Munteniens. With the beginning of the unrest in the 18th century - the peasant uprising of 1784 - to flee many Romanian serfs from Transylvania to Wallachia. Thus, a part of the population moved from the place Jina (German Sinna or Schinna ) - in today's Sibiu County - here in Corbi on. Unlike other places in the region, the settlers arrived here in Corbi on an indigenous community in decline and so were able to enforce them with their customs and traditions, and also maintained until today.

Population

As of the 2002 census, 4395 inhabitants were counted in the field of community. 4392 of them described themselves as Romanians, two as Roma and described himself as an Italian

The main occupation of the population are livestock (mainly sheep farming ) and the fruit growing. Of the approximately 5600 hectares of the municipal area, about 400 acres are used for agriculture.

Attractions

  • The Trinity Church ( Sf. Treime; . Corvin str Voicu 282), built in 1830, is a listed building.
  • The Rock Church Sf. Apostoli Petru şi Pavel ( ⊙ 45.275339424.8115492 ) built in eingemeindeten Jgheaburi village, beginning of the 15th century, renovated in 1814 and built a small wooden church standing in front in the 19th century, are national monuments.
  • The houses Gheorghe Popescu in st. Built Învăţător Popescu 1, 1934, and the rectory Ion Constantinescu in st. Preot Constantinescu 38, 1928 built in eingemeindeten village Poienărei, are national monuments.
