Cordonnet

Cordonnet is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Cordonnet situated at an altitude of 325 m above sea level, 8 km west of Rioz and about 20 km north of the city of Besançon (air line). The village is located in the south of the department, on a plateau at the northern foot of the hill Cote.

The area of ​​10.45 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the undulating landscape between the river valleys of the south and Ognon Saône in the northwest. The central part of the area occupied by the plateau of cordonnet, which is on average 340 m. It rises to the north slowly and reached on the plateau of Les Aiguilles with 381 m its culmination. The area is used primarily for agricultural purposes. South of the village rises the isolated hill Cote ( 386 m). The only above-ground river is the Ruisseau de l' Etang du Vau, which rises southeast of the village and provides for the drainage of the Tounolle to Ognon. In the west the plateau is limited by the dry valley of Hauterive. With a narrow tip, the municipality's area beyond Hauterive extends to a broad crest of the height of Villers -Bouton. Here the highest elevation of cordonnet is achieved with 422 m. In geological terms, the area is divided by several parallel faults, so that deposits in part of the Tertiary, and partly from the middle Jurassic period are pending.

To cordonnet the hamlet Hauterive include (300 m) in the basin at the western foot of the plateau of Les Aiguilles as well as some individual farms. Neighboring communities of cordonnet are Villers -Bouton and Fondremand in the north, Montarlot -lès- Rioz in the east, Chaux -la- Lotière, Etuz and Bonn Event Velloreille in the south and Oiselay -et- Grachaux in the West.

History

The area around cordonnet was at the instigation of men cleared in the 14th century by Oiselay and reclaimed. In the Middle Ages cordonnet belonged to the Free County of Burgundy and in the territory of the Bailliage d' amont. The local government of the village held the masters of Oiselay. Together with the Franche -Comté cordonnet came with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. Since the time of the French Revolution, the village Hauterive belongs to cordonnet. Today the village is a member of the comprehensive 28 villages municipal association Communauté de communes du Pays Riolais.

The attractions of cordonnet include the chapel and two Lavoirs that once served as well, wash and livestock watering.

Population

With 126 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) cordonnet one of the smallest municipalities in the department of Haute- Saône. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1891 212 persons were still counted ), a slight population growth was recorded since the mid-1970s again.

Economy and infrastructure

Cordonnet was until well into the 20th century a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) and forestry embossed village. Today, there are some establishments of local small businesses. In recent decades the village has been transformed into a residential community. Many workers are therefore commuters who do their work in the larger towns in the area and agglomeration in Besançon.

The village is situated away from the larger passage axes on a secondary road that leads from Oiselay -et- Grachaux after Montarlot -lès- Rioz. Further road links exist with Villers -Bouton and Chaux -la- Lotière.
